I have a program that I need to run from a DOS window? Where is the DOS prompt?
A:
You can find the DOS prompt, by going to your Start Menu and click on Run. In the Run Box type in "cmd" (without apostrophes). This brings up a command-line window.
The path to the DOS-prompt is shown at the top of the Window. It is:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
If you anticipate needing to use a DOS prompt frequently, you can make a shortcut from the C:\WINDOWS\system32 directory.
