Q:

I am looking for some software that can take an address on a single line with perhaps an error in the street name and return a corrected address with a zip code. For instance:

1501 Washtena Ann Arbor, MI

would be corrected to:

1501 Washtenaw
Ann Arbor, MI
48104-3179

You need to run your addresses through an address verification service. This will compare the addresses to the US Postal Service's Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS), which keeps track of existing and extinct addresses. These verification services will also add zip codes and standardize addresses. The standardization will fix typos.

One website that offers this is Intelligent Search:

http://www.intelligentsearch.com/addressverification/verifyaddress.html

This is pretty cheap - $50 for 1,000 addresses and $100 for 5,000 addresses.
